@innerstatejt Oh actually I get that (i always play with a metronome) but the real problem is that I can’t get the drums I laid out to preview with my audio in arrangement view. Like I can’t see where I am laying the specific loop in nor can I hear the drums I sequenced when playing the audio in arrangement. Sorry for the noob question and confusion. Still learning, it’s just that I tend to miss very basic details sometimes when it’s right in front of my face. I’ll keep at it. :)
@pixeldmg you should have made your drums first or recorded to a metronome. Now you’ll need to figure out the closest tempo and attempt to warp your guitar part to tempo. Sorry for the bad news, but that kind of warping is possible but not easy.
How do I get this to play with a guitar track I recorded in arrangement view? :(
very good
Great vudei helped alot to get a better understanding of the functions, 5 stars
can you send me the studio montreal samples or some acoustic drum samples? ill write you an inbox with my email. cool vid thx
Thank you very much mate.
But in Impulse, you the track’s aren’t highlighted, which means I can’t assign MIDI maps to them…. Are there any other ways of mapping MIDI controls in Impulse?
No mapping necessary on a midi keyboard. Just find your midi C key and the 7 white keys above that and you’re good.
Simply… hit the “midi” button top right of the screen. Click what you want to control. Wiggle the knob or press the button you want to assign it to, then click the “midi” button again to turn midi mode back off.
can i use this for hardstyle
Thanks for the rest of the video, some usefull tips in there…
When your tapping your drum hits in real time can you use the drum pads on a midi keyboard? If so, how do i map them?
@ 1.05
Does your midi keyboard get mapped to this configuration as default or do you need to do some midi mapping beforehand?
i.e. middle C on the keyboard being mapped to pad1
Nice one!!
I found a pack of the most famous beats and loops – some of those classic hip hop beats too! You can get it for free here:

Just saw the second part and see how lowering decay and setting the rack on Gate would answer my last question. However, does Impulse have any feature similar to formatting a choke group in a drum rack? So as opposed to holding each sound for as long as you want it to play, it plays after triggering it once and gets cut off when you trigger the following sound?
Really useful tutorial. I’m currently trying to make the most out of impulse in 7 LE, I thought it came with the ability to edit drum racks. How could I stack two impulses in the same instrument rack?? And, Is their anyway to have each rack cut the next off? I have some sounds in Impulse but they’re overlapping. Thanks!
Fukin aiy eeeee!!! o.O!!! Great tutorial mate. I’m already just ockin with my one here at home. Now for one using the drum rack one would be cool too. Cheers, IC.
is this in the package: line 6 ux 1 too????
how do you play with a keyboard? please help.
thanks.
Thanks mate, once again, really useful vid ;-)
Yes, it’s 8 sounds per Impulse, so you need to make a new track for each. There ARE ways to stack impulses in an instrument rack though.
Sorry, I’m a cretin, I know what I’m doing now!!
Sorry for asking stupid questions!!
I think that’s what’s always put me off about these things. A lot of them seem to do a very similar job.
This is a great vid, really easy to follow. Do you have to have multiple instances of impulse if you want more than 8 sounds? I.e Can you create more than 8 pads within one instance?
Great tutorial. He;ped me alot.
Yes, drum rack is a ch more powerful version of what you can do with impulse. Sometimes though, impulse is preferable due to its simplicity and immediacy. And Yes, Impulse is included in version 8.
