  1. why the fuck dont we get to hear the drums. i think you could have at least spared us a few seconds of it!

  2. still no software or contact

  3. It’s Ralph!! Great drummer, and really nice guy.

  4. yaaay Ralph Salmins, he played on kit at Benslow Music Schooll, such a great person and musician!

  5. Just curious why, with all the emphasis on authenticity, you went with ported bass drum heads? While removing the front head would have been authentic in the later 60s, something like that Gretsch kit’s head wouldn’t have happened in the 60s and even a hole that small is going to change the sound. Seems kind of against the point to me.

  6. Oh come on now, vintage microphones?

They used to smoke during sessions right?

Smoke particle size is 0.08 micron… right through the grills mate, plus all the other crap on those diaphragms.

Probably getting 40% efficiency out of ‘vintage’.

  7. just like ringo!

  8. they just explain everything now days…

  9. That was anti-climactic. They didn’t show you how it sounded from the tape source! I’m disappointed.

  10. I ordered mine on Feb 24th and still have not gotten them, I can’t even get a reply to my email…not good business.

  11. Very nice and great to see the kits. What was the song playing through the video?

  12. Interesting video – would have been nice to have heard more of the drums actually being played Ralph Salmins is one of the best session drummers around today!

  13. Analog. As it should be!

  14. Interesting but why is the bass drum twice as quiet as the cymbals? COuld be my cheap headphones or else it’s just too low in the mix.

  15. This was pretty nice but nothing can beat the recording and sound quality of Toontracks Superior Drummer 2.0. :)

  16. What is the track playing behind this video? I assumme the drums are in it?

  17. Its just the audio demo of the 60s drums plugin, go to their website for more audio demos.

  18. Its Native Instruments 60s drums sample music that they made using this particular plugin. You can listen to more audio demos on their website.

  19. Great concept!

Except… those drums in the clip don’t sound like 60’s Abbey Road drums to me.

And the guy hitting the snare, kick, and the crash isn’t hitting things remotely the way someone does when they’re in the thick of the groove. He looks more like a tech than a player.

    Too bad.

  20. Not always. You can test the pitch of lugs opposite each other, but you may have to tweek only one, leaving the other. You don’t always tweek both. it’s what ever works for you. there’s no hard and fast rule.

  21. great clip,,,,,to get a try on some of this equipment would be heaven

  22. nice kit too

  23. Nice Video

  24. i was sure this was the case, but you have to agree the video has you thinking your gonna hear some of those samples and beats alone .

  25. the stuff you hear in the background is the drums
