Sampling with Native Instruments Absynth

conservatoriumofaudio.com In this tutorial we look at using the Native Instruments Absynth soft synth as a sampler. If you are interested in a different sound from your samples then check this out, including layering of samples and the use of the filters, waveshaping and effects to create the final sound! 1. i didnt say anything about it being wrong, but if you consider the increased limitations in available effects, eq, and drum timing i have to agree with you its the wrong way. ;-P

  2. A lot of the best sounds are made from people doing things the “wrong” way, and pushing the boundaries :)

  3. it doesnt make sense to layer drum sounds in absynth, use battery for layering drum sounds

  4. @Ham549 you need a wav to midi converter to get the notes of the guitar track – then u take that midi track and have it trigger the car horn sample – you dont need absynth to do that most host programs have samplers ala simpler in ableton

  5. AMAZING

  6. @Ham549 u can use the “Simpler” Instrument in Double Click on it then Add your Sample to it And Load your Midi Sequence.

  7. thanks for the tutorial but I find the kick sound you created rather not all too exciting.. that’s a sound any software sampler could have produced.. why not using envelopes on the individual channel waveshapers to shape the transients a bit? or add some ringmodulation or fm?

  8. first record the horn, convert to wav, then drop it into atmosphere in the wav section of it. but be warned u should first try to capture all the possible env patterns for it so that you can modify the amp env afterwards if ur looking to filter it or change its sound properties

  9. What I want to know how to do is to take a .WAV sound say of a car horn and use it as a midi instrument, so I could load a midi file and replace say the gutar track with a car horn. How does one do that?
